Energy label

What is the energy label?

Buro Energy can issue your energy label for your home or non-residential building. Certified EPA-W and EPA-U advisor.

The definitive energy label has been mandatory since 1 January 2015 when selling, renting out or handing over homes.

The energy label shows the energy performance of a home or non-residential building and which energy-saving measures are possible. The label class ranges from A (few saving options) to G (many saving options still available). The energy label is valid for a maximum of 10 years. This was agreed in the Energy Agreement.

Choose an extended energy label

It is better to choose an extended energy label. When selling, this label can be transferred to the new owners, so after improvements to the home they can easily have the label updated. This way the label can move up a class, for example from D to B.

With this improved energy label, some banks can offer a sustainability loan and/or a mortgage interest discount of approximately 0.2%.

What if there is no energy label?

From 1 January 2015, the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) supervises compliance with the energy label obligation. This means the ILT will check whether the energy label has been handed over when selling, when renting out a new tenancy, or when handing over a building.

In case of non-compliance, the seller risks a fine of up to € 405.00.
